Parabens in Beauty Products

New research shows that switching to personal care products without parabens and phthalates turned breast cancer genes OFF in women in just 28 days (PMID: 36746253).

Parabens in beauty products

This landmark research shows that:

1. The products you apply to your skin are absorbed into your bloodstream and can travel throughout your body with the potential to interfere with its normal function.

2. Endocrine-disrupting chemicals that mess with your hormones like parabens and phthalates that are included in many cosmetic products activate breast cancer genes.

3. Avoiding personal care products that contain parabens and phthalates reduces breast cancer risk.

This research compliments and supports an earlier study which showed that adolescent girls who switched to products without endocrine disruptors experienced a significant drop in blood levels of these chemicals in 3 days (PMID: 26947464).

Check the ingredient labels on your beauty and personal care products and avoid endocrine disruptors like parabens and if an ingredient label lists fragrance this means that the product may contain phthalates.
